The Ladies!
Here are some of the females that will be vying for a place in the SILK Magazine. The deadline to send your photos is the 15th June 2014.
I would love to be featured because as a young adult this is new for me and I learn something new everyday. This is such a big step for me and I just want to be come something I always wanted to be.
It has always be a dream to be featured in a magazine like this and now the chance is here, why not take it?
Would be a great experience. I believe I can represent and go far with SILK Magazine.
From time I was young I always liked taking pictures, dressing up in my mother clothes, walking about in her shoes (still do it but in my own shoes) and that was fun for me. So I'm willing to take this chance to see if all my hard work would pay off. I am going to take it seriously but I am still trying to enjoy my self at the same time.
Featuring me in the Silk magazine will be a great opportunity and experience for me and boost my self confidence,and I also believe I have the look and personality for it.
I want to be featured in the Magazine for more exposure and to be recognized not only as a 'model' but a 'plus size model' as my size is considered "plus". It's more to give other persons who have the potential to be a model and not worry about the 'critics' but rise above, believe in themselves and represent 'big girls' The fact that I've been featured in Barbados 'Easy Magazine' I believe that with confidence I can be featured someday in a well established magazine such as SILK.
Fashion and creativity is a deep passion of mine. I always look at magazines and dreamt that someday I would be given the opportunity to be featured as a model. Although I have no experience in the field, I think I have the skill to represent the "Caribbean Silk Magazine". I am a good role model and also wants to be an inspiration to others. I also think that being a model is more than being in a photograph and having a pretty face and when given that opportunity, I can make a difference.
I've always aspired to be a model from a very young age. One of my favourite models is Miss Naomi Campbell. Being featured in a professional magazine would be a dream come true and also a step in what I believe in, an extremely amazing and fulfilling career.
I'm a person who likes to challenge myself. I like to push myself to achieve what I want in life. One of the things I've been trying to do over the last couple of years is getting out of my tomboy comfort zone and start doing things more feminine and ladylike. So I've started doing promotions and a bit of modelling and also some photo-shoots and I've come to love doing them. Doing them has helped me to appreciate my body.
It would help me with my confidence and I believe i got what it takes to be in the first Caribbean feature of SILK magazine.
